For more than 12 years I have had the opportunity to serve with TCM International Institute (TCM). And through the years I have met some amazing women from Europe, Central Asia, and the Middle East….women involved in many types of ministries…. impacting their churches, cultures, and countries as they share the good news of Jesus Christ!
One such woman is Anastasia*, a 30-something TCM student from Russia, whose mother died when she was 10 years old. As a young adult Anastasia had the opportunity to visit an orphanage as part of a ministry to the children there. Because of her own background she felt an immediate bond with them and out of that bond her ministry has grown.
In addition to her work as a psychologist and teacher, Anastasia leads a core team of 8 young adults, along with several volunteers, who regularly visit three orphanages in rural areas within their region of Russia. Many orphans become involved in crime, prostitution, and substance abuse as they reach adulthood. Anastasia and her team believe it is critically important for Christians to reach out as positive role models to the orphans. They provide programs and events for the children with a goal of introducing them to the Gospel and the hope found in Jesus, encouraging them to break the destructive patterns of their lives as they come to an understanding of God’s great love for them.
We are grateful that recently Ignite Women has chosen TCM as one of its Preferred Ministry partners! Through that partnership, women of Ignite have the opportunity to help scholarship over 300 national women, who live and minister in more than 35 countries in Europe, Central Asia, and the Middle East. Studying at TCM, taking one class at a time as life allows, means women like Anastasia can remain actively involved in their ministries while at the same time pursuing their graduate level education. With each course they are immediately better prepared to have greater influence in ministry.
Of her studies at TCM Anastasia says, “My TCM education has better prepared me for ministry. I have grown spiritually and broadened my Christian education. I have learned many practical ways to build my ministry, including how to create a network of people and organizations who are also involved in working with orphans.”
I would love for you to learn more about TCM and the opportunities to pray, serve, or give to help equip Christian women in Europe, Central Asia, and the Middle East for greater service in their ministries. Check us out at www.tcmi.org or by clicking on the Preferred Ministries – TCM link above.
And who knows…perhaps one day your Ignite Women Bible study or Catalyst group will be led by or include one of these amazing, God-loving women that you helped with a scholarship!
*Names of TCM students are changed for security purposes. Many are from “closed” countries where it is illegal to be a Christian or to even possess Christian materials.
